We are honoured to welcome Amanda Omin to the Australian Samba Retreat 2026 - one of the most exciting artists emerging from Brazil’s next generation of samba.

Guided by the sweet waters of Oxum, Amanda carries a presence rooted in grace, strength, and ancestral connection. Her journey in samba began 15 years ago at Aprendizes do Salgueiro, and was further shaped through the ala de passistas and the Samba no Pé project led by Carlinhos do Salgueiro. This rigorous formation refined her technical precision, musicality, and ability to transmit samba with clarity and depth.

In 2016, Amanda realised a long-held dream by joining Salgueiro as a passista. Her mastery and consistency quickly led to further recognition, including her role as Musa of Aprendizes do Salgueiro (2017–2019) and Queen of the Passistas in 2023. She now works alongside Mestre Carlinhos, teaching his signature technique and contributing to the continued transmission of samba at the highest level.

In 2025, Amanda returned to her school of the heart as Musa, and 2026 marks a defining chapter in her artistic journey - the culmination of years of dedicated study, service, and growth within samba.

At the Retreat, Amanda brings a rare combination of technical excellence, pedagogical skill, and cultural embodiment, offering participants the opportunity to learn samba with depth, precision, and living connection to its roots.
