Based in Munich, Irineu is an internationally recognised artistic director, movement tutor, and cultural producer whose work spans continents and disciplines. Holding a Masters from Central Saint Martins, he has taught at leading institutions including The Place, Siobhan Davies Studios, and Guildhall School of Music and Drama, shaping performers across dance and theatre at the highest level.

Globally celebrated as the creator of the Abieié Method, Irineu’s work blends contemporary movement with the depth, rhythm, and ancestry of Afro-Brazilian traditions. His approach is immersive, expressive, and deeply connected - an invitation to experience Samba not just as a dance, but as a living, breathing language of the body.

From choreographing across opera, theatre, film, and circus, to directing international festivals and founding major cultural platforms such as the Bambas Festival, VOA Dance Retreat, and the International Samba Congress Europe - his influence is far-reaching and highly impactful across the dissemination of Afro Brazilian cultural expression.

With roots in the leading Samba Schools of São Paulo’s Carnaval and a global teaching practice shaping dancers and communities worldwide, Irineu embodies a living bridge between tradition and evolution - offering a rare chance to experience through the lens of a true master.
