Preparing for The Retreat
This is a general guide to help you come prepared for Australian Samba Retreat.-
Comfortable dance/active wear
Wear what you would usually wear to a samba class. Things might get pretty sweaty, so you may want to pack a change of clothes for between sessions if you need.Comfortable footwear
Sneakers, dance shoes, samba heels - whatever you feel comfortable dancing in. You are also more than welcome to dance barefoot, in socks or wearing foot thongs - for the afro and somatic movement classes, this will feel especially good! The event is taking across two spaces, both with wooden floorboards. These may feel grippy in standard sneakers, so we recommend bringing a few different options along with you to find what’s most comfortable.
Layers
Mornings and evenings can be cool. Bring a jumper or jacket for breaks, workshops and downtime.
Water bottle
We have 4 big days of workshops and movement. Bring water and any liquids you need to stay hydrated.Food (snacks/lunch/dinner)
If you have not ordered meals, pack food you can eat between sessions so you can refuel properly in between workshops. Burnside Village is directly across the road from the Venue and has a Coles supermarket inside for last minute snacks.
